Comments of the week: June 20-26, 2011

One man's trash is another man's treasure.

The comments section. Every popular website has one. Most people don't really pay much attention to this space because all eyes are on whatever video, article or picture is featured on the website being visited.

Comments don't get the attention they deserve because most of them are either ordinal numbers, troll-ish comments or spam. So to show some love to those who exert effort in pressing the comment button in their favorite website to say something quotable, I'm starting a new segment called Comments of the week, where I will feature the best comments I could find from websites I've visited in a week.

However, remember that these comments are not to be interpreted on their own. Checkout the things being commented on for you to get a drift as to why these comments deserve to be featured here (that's what the hyperlinks are for).

So without further ado, this week's awesome comments are from:

If you've seen Cats and Dogs, you'll know that cats are dicks. Even Cracked seconds the motion. Despite of this, j.del.goa's grandma insisted to keep her cat. Good thing granny knows how to deal with mammals from hell.

IGN is probably the best source for gaming news and info on the web. But that doesn't mean they're perfect. Go ask AngryMrBungle.

AngryMrBungle wrote a blog on ways the IGN staff can improve their website. His piece received positive response from the IGN community. In the midst of the love, two goofballs decided to talk about something entirely different -- shit.

And you wonder why people don't pay so much attention to the comments section. Still, Alienfish's response to 01Nightwatcher cracked me up.

Saw a vid on YouTube about some guy complaining about the Philippines and its denizens. It's a long story, but if you're willing to learn about it, click here.

Just to give you some idea about said video, its maker, Baron Buchokoy, made some sort of documentary so he could whine about the things that have been bothering Filipinos for quite some time now. And you'd think that all this parroting of grievances would come with a solution, right? After all, this guy is trying to act like some sort of a modern day hero. Heck, some of his supporters even went as far as calling him the next Jose Rizal. Unfortunately, this guy is short on suggestions. meowtrox, on the other hand, isn't.

Think the comments featured here are lame? Then hit the comments button and troll all you want. Who knows? Your comment might appear on the next edition of Comments of the week.
